- No AI Model Training: Catalog data passed to Gemini 2.5 API is processed ephemerally and is never used to train public AI foundation models.
- Instant Purge: When you uninstall the app, all shop tokens and records are automatically scheduled for permanent deletion within 48 hours.
1. Information We Collect
When you install 9Teen AI SEO from the Shopify App Store, we collect and store only the minimal operational data required to perform search engine optimization:
- Store Information: Your `myshopify.com` domain, store primary language, currency, and public contact email provided by Shopify OAuth.
- Catalog Content: Product titles, descriptions, handles, collection names, blog article titles, and public product media URLs needed for ALT tag generation.
- Google Search Console Data (Optional): If you choose to connect Google Search Console, we receive read-only OAuth access to organic search queries, impressions, clicks, and average CTR for your verified domain. We never access your Google account profile or non-search data.
2. What We Explicitly Do Not Collect
9Teen AI SEO does not require customer-level information to optimize store search rankings. Specifically:
- We do not collect customer names, phone numbers, or residential addresses.
- We do not touch payment gateways, credit card numbers, or transaction tokens.
- We do not track individual buyer browsing sessions, IP addresses, or cart contents.
3. How We Use Information
Collected catalog metadata is used exclusively to:
- Analyze store SEO health (calculating the 0–100 SEO health score).
- Generate optimized meta titles and descriptions using Gemini 2.5.
- Analyze product photography via computer vision to write descriptive image ALT tags.
- Inject Schema.org JSON-LD structured data via Shopify Theme App Extensions.
- Generate dynamic `/.well-known/llms.txt` files for AI search discovery.
4. Sub-processors and Cloud Infrastructure
We partner with enterprise-grade cloud providers under strict Data Protection Agreements:
Google Cloud & Gemini API
Server-side AI inference for vision ALT generation and meta copywriting. Data is processed in-memory and not stored.
Shopify Infrastructure
Native GraphQL Admin API and Theme App Extensions. Data remains housed within Shopify's ecosystem.
5. Shopify Mandatory Webhooks & GDPR Compliance
We strictly honor Shopify's mandatory data protection webhooks:
customers/data_request: We do not retain customer data. Inquiries receive automated confirmation.customers/redact: Any incidental identifiers are deleted within 48 hours.shop/redact: All merchant records, offline access tokens, and cached audit records are completely expunged within 48 hours of app uninstallation.
6. Data Security
All communication between your Shopify admin and 9Teen servers is encrypted in transit using Transport Layer Security (TLS 1.3). Access tokens and credentials are encrypted at rest using AES-256 standards.
